It is hard to believe we are already moving into the second half of 2026! As I look back at everything we have accomplished this year, I am incredibly proud of our Women’s Council of REALTORS® San Antonio network — but I may be even more excited about what is still ahead.
One thing I have learned during my time as president is that Women’s Council is about so much more than the events on our calendar — it is about what happens because of those events. It is the introduction that turns into a referral, the coffee conversation that leads to a new business relationship, the class where you learn one thing that changes how you run your business. It is finding a mentor, meeting a future leader or simply walking into a room where people know your name and genuinely want to see you succeed. That is what we are building in San Antonio.
Celebrating Our 2027 Board
In July, it was all hands on deck for the 2027 elections — we were thrilled to celebrate the 2027 Board: President Patricia Zars, President-Elect Tammy Roberts, First Vice President Diana Taylor, Treasurer Hillary Moussalli, Event Director Brenda Robles and Membership Director Vanessa Odejumi! Congratulations to all — 2027 is going to be amazing!
Fall Programming Kicks Off
Don’t miss our 2026 fall programming. August started with a bang with our Member Orientation, Council Overview & Networking event on August 4 at Capital Title/Schaenfield — whether you’re a newer member or just want a refresher on what Women’s Council offers, I encourage you to join. Sometimes the greatest opportunities are already right in front of us; we just need to know how to take advantage of them.
August will also bring the Women’s Council of REALTORS® from across Texas to San Antonio for the Texas REALTORS® 2026 Shaping Texas Conference, August 26–30 — another great chance to connect, learn and represent our hometown.
September is all about leadership and relationships. Our September 10 Coffee Connect will focus on leadership, followed by one of the events I’m most excited about this year: our Member Appreciation Event on September 17. At the end of the day, relationships really are the foundation of our business.
October keeps the momentum going with the Sparkling Holiday Kick-Off Mixer on October 8, followed by our Strategic Partner Appreciation Breakfast on October 22. Our Strategic Partners deserve a special mention — they do far more than sponsor our events. They support our mission, invest in our members and help make so much of what we do possible. I hope our members will continue to support the businesses that so generously support us.
November brings another Member Orientation and Networking event on November 10, along with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) meetings in New Orleans November 6–8. And then somehow — we’ll find ourselves in December, celebrating our 2027 installation. I’m already excited about the next chapter of our San Antonio network.
Watching new leaders step forward is one of the things I love most about Women’s Council. Leadership here isn’t simply about holding a title — it’s about learning to serve, becoming more confident, developing skills that translate directly into our businesses and communities, and helping create opportunities for the leaders coming behind us. I’m so excited about our incoming 2027 Board and what they’ll bring to this organization. There is tremendous talent, creativity and heart within this network, and I know our future is in very good hands.
My Challenge to You
Before we turn the page on 2026, we still have a lot of memories to make. So here is my challenge for the rest of the year: show up. Come to an event you’ve never attended. Sit next to someone you don’t know. Introduce yourself to a Strategic Partner. Invite another REALTOR® to join you. Ask someone how you can help their business. Get involved.
You never know which conversation will lead to your next client, referral, friendship, opportunity — or leadership role. Our calendar may tell you where we are going to be, but all of you are the reason why we are there.
I cannot wait to see what we accomplish together during the rest of 2026.
