Realtors Give Back: Volunteer Event at the San Antonio Food Bank
While SABOR celebrates excellence, the spirit of giving remains just as strong this season. On Nov. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Realtors will gather for the Realtors Give Back: Volunteer Event at the San Antonio Food Bank, located at 5200 Historic Old U.S. Highway 90.
This Thanksgiving season, Realtors are joining forces with the San Antonio Food Bank to help families in need by volunteering both in the warehouse and at curbside distribution. The event ensures that everyone in the community has a meal to be thankful for — reflecting the compassion and generosity that define SABOR members.
Those interested in participating can sign up online at Realtors Give Back: Volunteer Event at Food Bank.
Evolving to Meet Members’ Needs
The Realtor Academy has long been a cornerstone of professional development for SABOR members. As the industry evolves and technology reshapes the way we work, the academy is evolving too.
The team is currently revamping class offerings for 2026, with the goal of delivering education that is more meaningful, relevant and accessible than ever before. This reimagining of the course catalog goes beyond meeting continuing education requirements — it’s about equipping Realtors with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive in a competitive marketplace.
From in-depth courses on emerging market trends to hands-on sessions that build practical skills, SABOR is committed to helping members grow in ways that matter most to them. Listening to members has been central to this process. The academy team has gathered feedback, assessed industry needs and begun shaping new programming to ensure every SABOR member finds value in their educational experience.
It’s all about lifelong learning, professional excellence and pride in being part of a forward-thinking organization.
Simplified Reporting for Seller Concessions
Based on member and Board of Managers feedback, SABOR has made updates to simplify how seller concessions are reported once a listing has been marked as sold.
The process has been streamlined to one dropdown menu and one text field, with both fields required. This ensures that all necessary information is collected from the listing and that Realtors have the complete details needed for their CMAs.
The Seller Concessions Description dropdown has been simplified to include Closing Costs, Home Warranty, None and Other — see agent remarks. Multiple reporting fields have been consolidated into a single field designed to capture one dollar amount for the “Total Amount Paid by Seller.” Seller concessions in the MLS reflect the amount paid by the seller toward the buyer’s closing costs.
Strengthening the Realtor Community
As SABOR continues to build on its pillars of advocacy, education and networking, the organization’s focus remains the same — empowering members to succeed, advocating for the future of real estate and nurturing a network of professionals who support one another and their communities.
Together, we can shape the future of real estate.
